The Minor Arcana contains 56 cards connected with everyday experiences, emotions, decisions, relationships, work and personal challenges. These cards are divided into four suits: Cups, Pentacles, Swords and Wands.
While the Major Arcana often represents larger life lessons and important turning points, the Minor Arcana usually focuses on the situations and emotions that appear in daily life.
A Minor Arcana card might describe a conversation, a practical concern, a relationship dynamic, a creative idea or a decision that needs attention.
The Minor Arcana is made up of four suits. Each suit contains 14 cards: Ace through Ten, followed by the Page, Knight, Queen and King.

Main themes: Emotions, relationships, intuition, love, compassion and connection.
Cups are closely connected with the emotional world. They can represent how you feel, how you connect with others and how openly you express affection, empathy or vulnerability.

Each Minor Arcana suit contains four court cards: the Page, Knight, Queen and King.
Court cards can represent people, personality traits, approaches to a situation or parts of your own character.
Pages often represent curiosity, learning, messages, fresh ideas and the beginning of development.
Knights represent movement, action and the active pursuit of the suit's energy. They can also show extremes or impulsive behaviour.
Queens often represent maturity, inner strength, understanding and the inward expression of their suit.
Kings represent leadership, experience, authority and the confident outward expression of their suit.
A reversed card appears upside down. Reversed Minor Arcana cards do not always mean the opposite of their upright interpretation.
A reversal may suggest that the card's energy is blocked, delayed, hidden, weakened or expressed in an unhealthy way.
For example, an upright Ace of Wands can represent inspiration and a new opportunity. Reversed, it might suggest low motivation, delays or an idea that has not yet been developed.
Beginners can choose to keep every card upright while learning. Reversals can be introduced later when you feel more confident.
When several Minor Arcana cards appear in one reading, look for patterns across the suits, numbers and images.
Ask yourself:
A reading filled with Cups may focus strongly on emotions, while many Swords may show mental stress or an important conversation.
Several Aces may indicate new beginnings. Several Tens may suggest that an important cycle is ending.
Most tarot readings include a mixture of Major and Minor Arcana cards.
Major Arcana cards often show the larger lesson or turning point, while Minor Arcana cards provide more detail about how that lesson appears in daily life.
