What a Yes-or-No Tarot Reading Can and Cannot Tell You

A yes-or-no format is deliberately simple, but real situations are rarely binary. Use the card as a prompt to examine the question rather than as a guaranteed answer. If the situation contains important conditions, rewrite the question so that it explores what you can understand or influence.

Ask a focused question

Questions such as “What should I consider before making this choice?” often produce more useful reflection than questions that ask the cards to predict another person's behaviour. After drawing, consider the card's traditional themes, your immediate reaction and the facts of the situation. A “not yet” interpretation can simply mean that more information or reflection is needed; it does not predict a future event.

Use the result as one perspective

For decisions involving health, safety, money, legal matters or major commitments, use appropriate professional information and advice. Tarot can help you formulate questions, identify assumptions and reflect on priorities, but it should not replace evidence or specialist guidance.
